Model T Birthplace Now Historic Landmark

The factory building where the Model T was first manufactured has been designated as a Historic Landmark. The Piquette Plant was built in 1904 and served as the home of Ford until 1910 when production shifted to the bigger factory complex in Highland Park. Approximately 12,000 Model T's were built there between 1908 and 1910. Detroit News article
