50 Fun Things to do in Michigan this Fall

Andrew Norton

I’m continuing my ‘Top 50’ lists for each season in Michigan. Fall is just about my favorite season. Cooler weather, fewer bugs, and the beautiful show our trees put on are just a few of the reasons.

Fall officially starts September 23, but the decorations and plethora of pumpkin spice everything in the stores would beg otherwise. Here we go, my list of 50 Things to do in Michigan this Fall.

Fall Colors in Michigan Are Changing - Slowly

Andrew Norton

Take a look at the fall color in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula:

I admit it. I'm still a sucker for a beautiful stream of images alongside a wonderful voice-over from Tim Allen. Fall foiliage has been slow to change here in Michigan so I am getting a peak at what might be yet to come via the Pure Michigan ad, Deep Breath.

Michigan's warm September has slowed down the onslaught of fall color we normally are experiencing at this time in the fall. I have a feeling that when the color finally changes, it's going to change fast and the fall color show will not last long.

I am loving the wonderful photos from Michigan's Upper Peninsula this fall. Much of the U.P. will see peak color this weekend so don't delay in heading on up for a color tour.

Just Beautiful.

The changes that autumn brings

Andrew Norton

I really enjoyed this brief narrative that was on the back of our church bulletin yesterday. I thought I would share it here -

IN Ecclesiastes 3:1 we read, There is a . . . season for every activity under heaven (NIV). A lone dove eats beneath the feeder; close in, the grass is green and needs mowing. The trees are dripping; the sun is bright, misleading of its warmth. Beneath the fence a still blanket of pale green frost stretches. A trio of crows crosses it. It turned cold overnight; our neighbor's once green corn is now brown. A cardinal acts as if nothing miraculous were happening. This is the second night of autumn; the third day. The land gets ready for sleep.
