With all of the talk of the possible closing of the Detroit Zoo I think it is important to get the historical perspective and significance of this institution. Too bad the spirit of reviving Detroit that the Super Bowl brought hasn't carried over to saving the Detroit Zoo. If this keeps up, the only thing (other than sports facilities) left in Detroit will be the *gag* casinos.
