Photo of float and costumes for Detroit’s Thanksgiving Parade 2009

by admin on November 6, 2009

The Detroit Thanksgiving Day Parade is now just under three weeks away. You can see a Mother Goose float and about a dozen costume heads in this photo. I always find it to be kind of a macabre scene when you see only the heads of costumes sitting in a warehouse. Don’t ask me why, I just do :) .

The annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in Detroit has been a fixture since 1924. The theme for this year’s parade is “Together We Shine.” The 2009 parade steps off at 9:20 a.m. at Woodward and Mack.

For a great pictorial history of the parade you really should give “Detroit’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” a look –
