Hey, Michigan lawmakers are searching for other areas to cut

by admin on April 24, 2007

State lawmakers are looking to cut $500,000 from the budget by cutting back on car washes. The current amount is $700,000 and lawmakers are looking to reduce that to a mere $200,000 for car washes.

Hmm, if they can find a half million here and another million there – maybe they can cut their way to a balanced budget instead of hitting us up for another tax increase. And it seems like only a few weeks ago that we were being told that they had explored all avenues for cutting spending.

Read all about it in the Detroit Free Press.

Exactly whose cars are they washing? No one has ever offered to wash my car – except my loving husband…

they can hire me to wash their cars for half that- i like washing cars, and if they want to pay me 100 grand a year to keep the fleet clean, all i need is some dishsoap, turtle wax, water, a sponge, a hose, and a good bucket…and maybe some towels.

that or they could just drive dirty cars like the rest of us.

Oh, Good grief!
First off, wash your own car- on second thought- use your own car! I bet these are all state-owned cars they’re using AND I doubt their paying for their gas either!
