Detroit Tigers honor Veterans

On Sunday, May 24th, the Detroit Tigers honored Veterans of the various branches of the Armed Service in honor of Memorial Day. It was great to be able to give these men and women a standing ovation for their dedicated service to our country.

A handful of the Veterans threw out ceremonial first pitches and players from both the Tigers and Rockies stood along the first and third baselines and applauded the Veterans.

The only thing missing was a flyover.

Blueberry Iced Coffee Smoothie Recipe

I was in the mood for an iced coffee today, but I wanted something different than the same old, same old, ya know? I checked on our coffee bean supplies and we still had some wonderful Manitou Blueberry from Leelaunau Coffee. I poked around a bit in our freezer and found some frozen Michigan blueberries. It didn’t take me long and I had a pretty sweet idea percolating :) .

Chrysler 3D video from 1939 World’s Fair

I love finding vintage films containing Michigan-related images. This nine minute clip is from the 1939 World’s Fair and used cutting edge 3D technology that would eventually find it’s way into motion pictures. The animation reminds me of the old Gumby video shorts.
