U.P. forest fire is 50% contained

by admin on August 13, 2007

Officials are saying that the Sleeper Lake Fire is contained by a fire line along about 50% of the fire’s perimeter. The total acres burnt are now up to 18,483.

The fire is the U.P.’s largest in about 30 years and in order for the fire to be completely extinguished it will be up to nature to take its course and some time.

Read the full article about the current condition of the fire at the Mining Journal.
