Time lapse video of 2009 Chicago to Mackinac sailboat race

by admin on July 22, 2009

Ken Scott Photography created this mesmerizing time lapse video of sailboats in the Chicago to Mackinac race. The photos were taken as the sailboats passed Sleeping Bear Point and you can see the southern end of South Manitou Island in the background as well. The time lapse aspect makes the boats appear to skate across the lake’s surface as if it were ice. I also found it amusing to watch the people at the beach as they look like ants jumping in and out of the water.

hi folks,

I wanted to say thanks for plugging my video and couldn’t find an email option on your site, so I’m leaving it here … thanks!

Ken,
You’re quite welcome – as you can see I love finding interesting things relating to Michigan. Sorry about the lack of an email contact here on the blog. I’m in the process of fixing things up a mite around here and didn’t add that yet. I’ll remedy that shortly :)
