What are your plans for the summer?

Comerica Park Scoreboard

We already have plans for a lot of short trips around the state. We’re taking the kids to Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City this month. In July we’ll be camping up at White River Campground – one of my favorite privately run campgrounds in the state.

Towards the end of July and in early August we have tickets to see a couple of Detroit Tigers games at beautiful Comerica Park. My son is super excited because at one of the games we’re going to he will get to run the bases. Wish I could, too :) .

So, how about you?

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

We’ll be up near TC at the end of the month. We’re staying at Boyne Mountain (waterpark) and then at Jason’s parent’s cabin in Mancelona. We plan on hanging out in TC here and there too. If you guys are in TC at the same time, maybe we can get everyone together for lunch or a picnic.

I really want to do a Michigan road trip this summer. We’re hoping to go to England for Christmas as my husband hasn’t been home since December of 2008. So, I’m looking for an economical road trip where we can explore another part of Michigan.

If you haven’t explored the Upper Peninsula much – I highly recommend it! Since you would be heading out of Detroit a drive along the Lake Huron shore up to Mackinaw City would be a nice bonus :) .

Depending on how much time you are taking, I suggest heading all the way up to Sault Ste. Marie and then just drive along the Lake Superior shore at least as far as Marquette. For the return trip you just have to come back on U.S. 2 – one of the most beautiful shoreline drives you will ever take.

Shoot, now you have me wanting to take a U.P. roadtrip :) .
