This is a really beautiful website! Gorgous photo of the Porkies! We used to travel to Ontonagon to visit relatives back in the 1940′s and 50′s. I write about that in my new book to be released in two weeks, “A Tree Grows in Trout Creek.” It’s a collection of stories of my growing up years in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. My first book, “The Wishing Years,” is also a collection of poignant and funny memoirs. Learning to drive on the back roads, calling coyotes or visiting relatives in Ontongon and finding agates on the Lake Superior shore are all part of my memoirs. My cousin Hulda, in her 90′s now, still lives on the shoreline of Lake Superior and we still visit. I don’t have my photos out yet but come visit anyway. Check out my Michigan blog!
Beautiful!
I am a native from Michigan (lower peninsula). I now live in California and miss the season changes. This photo reminded me very much of those taken of the glaciers in Alaska (late summer).
Thanks for sharing.
