Watersmeet Nimrods are the Subject of Documentary

by admin on January 4, 2006

The Watersmeet Nimrods are no strangers to fame. They have been mentioned by ESPN and have even appeared on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.” The Sundance Channel is doing a documentary to portray what life in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is like.

Webster’s Dictionary defines Nimrod as – a descendant of Ham represented in the Old Testament book of Genesis as a mighty hunter and a king of Shinar. Watersmeet began using the nickname Nimrods in 1904 simply because it is a great area for hunting.

Thanks for info about the Watersmeet Nimrods–was doing a search and chose your site because of the info that popped up in the search. Wish the documentary on the Nimrods would’ve actually been aired on TBS which is where I saw it advertised–didn’t find out till later that it was on Sundance or IFC–two stations I don’t get–wish I did–used to.

Arlene,

Hey! Glad you were able to find the information you needed at our humble little blog here.

I have created a page at http://www.squidoo.com/nimrod-nation/ that has show times and information on purchasing the documentary from iTunes.
